JAWS – Kick off event at Kehillat Ma’arav
Sunday, February 28 1pm-4pm
On Sunday, February 28th from 1pm-4pm, KM kicked off their newest program, JAWS (Jewish Arts Workshop Series), with the Betzalel Fest. The community joined together for a wide range of activities including a Jewish arts display, candle making, challah baking, kosher wine and cheese tasting, creating silk challah covers, crafts for kids, opportunities to sign up for future art classes, AND a musical performance to conclude the event. The KM Men’s Club sponsored a classical flute and piano recital which featured our very own flutist, Susan Greenberg and pianist, Delores Stevens playing work by Jewish composer Paul Schoenfield, and excerpts from a jazz suite by Claude Bolling. (Special thanks to Keyboard Concepts for their donation of the piano for the concert.) It was an afternoon of creative fun for all ages. Browse through the photo gallery below!
